Access: Via a four wheel drive track that stops at the Fishing Club's hut. The turnoff is approximately 1 km west of the road to Clark's Junction.
Weather / Sea conditions: This is an inland hydro lake. Visibility is average to poor - the water is stained due to the peaty nature of the surrounding soils.
Visibility: Usually between 3 and 6 metres
Description:This is an inland lake at just on 300m making this an altitude dive! The site of interest for diving is the old Waipori township, submerged when the lake was filled in 1904. The old bridge running from east to west across the mouth of the Lammerlaw Stream is worthy of special note.
Depth: The township is mostly between 5 and 15 metres. At greater depths than this the light is so severely cut back that you could be forgiven for thinking it is a night dive! Take a torch. Most areas of interest are shallower than 10 meters.
